The Crusader Basketball team celebrated a Happy New Year, erasing a 7 point halftime deficit to defeat Gil St. Bernard’s 49-48.     The Crusaders entered the game as the top scoring team in the state of New Jersey, averaging 88.1 points per game, but a stingy GSB defense made BC scap for every point.

Hoops Off to Strong Start

December 14 – Oradell, NJ – The Crusaders entered their 62nd Season of Varsity Basketball on Friday night vs. the Ghosts of Paterson Eastside. If the first night is any indication of how North Jersey’s Pre-Season#1 Ranked Team can be, we’re in for an exciting season!

The 26-11 first quarter scoring for BC set the tone for a night that would put on display BC’s speed and dynamic play. Zach Freemantle led BC with 15 points, most coming during the first half as the Crusaders built an insurmountable 58-23 lead. Justin Regis was nipping at Zach’s heels with 14 points and the well-rounded Crusaders saw St. Peter’s-bound guard, Doug Edert and teammate Will Richardson deposit 13 of their own.

Of course, the Crazies really got wound up on Tommy Scancarella’s, nothing-but-net three in the fourth. Bergen finished with a 92-44 victory.
