Julian Chun Gets It Done vs. SPP

January 5 – Jersey City, NJ – While the Crusader swimmers struggled to score vs. the Marauders of St. Peter’s Prep, Julian Chun took first in both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke. St. Peter’s defeated the Crusaders 104-66 in the meet held at the Yanatelli Center at St. Peter’s University.




SAM COMES UP HUGhEAGAINST WAYNE VALLEY

December 19 – Ridgewood, NJ –
There’s no place like home. That may have been what Sam Hughes was thinking as he swam for first place in the 100 Back and as a member of the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relay teams on Tuesday. BC defeated the Indians by a score of 107-93. Julian Chun won 200 IM and 100 Free. Alex Rose defeated his field in the 200 Free and 100 Fly. Alex Vester put in the hard work for the team, taking 1st Place in the 500 Free. Tim Anderson won the 100 Breast and did a first rate job signaling Vester on his 500 yard race. Christian Skaff won his 50 Free sprint as BC took first in all eleven events.




CHUN AND HAEMMERLE SWIM TO FOUR FIRST PLACE FINISHES

December 17 – Wayne, NJ – Thanks to hard work and help from their friends, Julian Chun and Tom Haemmerle had a great day in the pool on Tuesday, taking first in four separate events vs. Wayne Hills. They both did it with help from their teammates, Julian first with the 200 Medley Relay Team and then he won the 50 Free, 200 Free Relay and finally the 100 Breast. Tom’s four were the 200 Individual Medley, followed up with first in the 500 Free, 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay. Ben Rose swam to first in the 200 Free and 100 Back, Sam Hughes took first in the 100 Fly. BC won 10 of 11 races, earning a 108-61 victory over the Patriots.



SWIMMERS COME UP ROSES VS FAIR LAWN

December 12 – Garfield, NJ – The Crusader Swim Team found itself without a number of team members who were unable to perform on Wednesday, but a number of young men stepped up to help BC start a new winning streak with a victory over Fair Lawn, 97-73. Scarlet and Gold swimmers and relays won 10 of 11 heats and members added some personal bests to their resumes. The Rose brothers (Alex and Ben) teamed up for 8 wins on BC’s return to its former home pool. It started with the two leading off the 200 Medley Relay. Chris LaBianco and Andrew Mazzacano (each with 3 first-place finishes on the day) completed the winning legs of the race. Louis Orlando took home first on the 100 Butterfly and led off winning teams with the 200 and 400 free relays. Christian Skaff pitched in a couple of solid swims with the 200 and 500 free relays as well.




RIDGEWOOD LEAVES BC MAROONED IN HOME OPENER

December 6 - Ridgewood, NJ - BC opened its home swimming season in its new pool at the Ridgewood YMCA, but victory was not in the cards as another resident, Ridgewood HS prevailed 93-77.  Ben Rose won the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.84, Thomas Haemmerle won the 500 Free and BC won the 200 Free Relay in a night which saw RHS win 7 of 11 heats.


BC ZOOMS PAST COMETS

December 4 - Hackensack, NJ - BC's Swimmers won 10 of 11 races, taking down Hackensack HS in their 2018-2019 opener by a score of 107-63.    Ben Rose won the 50 Free with a time of 24.69 and was a member of the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay (all winners on the day).  Sam Hughes took first thrice as well with the 200 Free and 200 and 400 Free Relays.  Tim Anderson won the 500 Free, 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays.  Chris LaBianco won the 100 Free and wa a member of the 400 Free Relay.  Alex Vester won the 200 IM and was a member of the 200 Medley Relay.  Tom Haemmerle was a member of two winning relays 200 Medley and 200 Free.  Congratulations to all the swimmers for a great start to the season!



BERGEN CATHOLIC ANNOUNCES NEW HOME FOR SWIM TEAM!


October 26 - Oradell, NJ - The Crusader Swim Team will have a new home for the 2018-2019 season.  After decades at the Garfield Boys Club, the team will move to a new venue, much closer to home in Ridgewood at the Ridgewood YMCA.  This move provides BC with a number of advantages, enhancing the experience for swimmers and their families.  We are grateful for the home Garfield has been and we are excited about the home Ridgewood will be!
