VARSITY DROPS FIRST BNC UNITED GAME OF THE SEASON

May 6 – Ramsey, NJ – The Crusaders put the ball in play, but the Ironmen played some stellar defense to hold the Crusaders to one run over seven innings as Don Bosco won 5-1.
     Juan DeLaCruz gave the Crusaders an early lead in the first as Ty Malone drove him in with a single.
     Dom Cancellieri yielded only two runs through 4.2 innings. Joe Morin entered with bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth with bases loaded and got a big strike out to end the inning. He continued onto a 1-2-3 sixth in relief.
     Pat Zuccola drilled a double in the top of the sixth, but the Crusaders were unable to bring him home. The loss puts BC at 6-1 in the BNC United, one game behind DBP. The Crusaders will need to win their final league game vs. the Ironmen on Thursday for a share of the league title.
