ONTO THE STATE FINAL! BC DROPS BOSCO AGAIN!

November 17 – Oradell, NJ – The top-seeded Crusaders started inauspiciously on Saturday afternoon, but by the end, they left no doubt why they are the state’s top team.  A terrific foe, Don Bosco opened a 10-0 lead against the Crusaders, but made a critical error late in the half when Pierson “Big Play” Tobia made his second remarkable interception in two games vs. the Ironmen.  This time he set his offiense up, giving them a red-zone possession which Andrew Boel quickly converted into a scoring strike to his favorite target, Tyler Devera.

Coming out of the half, down 10-7, the Crusaders needed to get a stop as Bosco received the second half kick-off.  They succeeded with a three-and-out, but were intercepted, two passes into their possession.  At that point, Don Bosco threw another interception and BC went 56 yards in 3 plays for the last 44 on a sprint to the end zone by Rahmir Johnson, giving BC a 14-10 lead.

Bosco retook the lead at 17-14 and BC was in need of a big play as it lined up to punt.  That is exactly wat they got from linebaker/running-back, Anthony Corbin, who took a direct snap 78 yards for a touchdown.

Now up 21-17, BC would not relinquish its lead.  They extended it as Rahmir ran 62 yards for his second touchdown on the game.

In the fourth quarter, the Crusaders extended their lead to 35-17 as Jeremiah Grant sacked the QB and forced a fumble in the end zone, recovered by AJ Longo.  Michael Kearney booted his fifth PAT and that’s all she wrote.
