St. Peter’s Prep Outscores Crusaders 7-4

December 11 – Newark, NJ – A day following its first victory of 2018-2019, the Varsity hockey team showed signs of sluggishness as St. Peter’s Prep built a 3-0 lead through the first period and a half. Junior Daniel Negron found Nick Chiurazzi to get BC started and Ryan Moloughney scored a power play goal with 2:44 remaining in the second to cut the Marauder lead to 1. But just 44 seconds later, St. Peter’s scored to head into the second intermission up 4-2. They reclaimed their 3 goal lead 3:55 into the third period before Nick Stoebling converted on a Brenden Kelly feed at the 5:39 mark to keep BC’s hopes alive. It was not to be, however, as SPP put the finishing touches on the afternoon with two late goals. Brendan McCaskey turned away 21 of St. Peter’s shots on the day.
