TRACK AND FIELD TAKES BIG NORTH UNITED TITLE

May 2 – Ridgewood, NJ – The BC Track team completed a Conference clean sweep by winning the Big North Conference Championship meet over runner-up Paramus Catholic by a score of 158-101. That gives the Crusaders conference titles in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track for the 2018-19 school year, including an undefeated dual meet record.
Despite having to compete on the day of the senior prom, BC put the meet away early, rolling to event victories by seniors Rahmir Johnson (100, 200, long jump), Ivan Jacob (pole vault, high jump), Braedon Fiume (1600), Jack Welch (800), and Elias Shaia (3200). Rahmir’s times in the 100 and 200 are #1 in Bergen County this year, and his 200 time (21.64) is #1 in New Jersey, despite rainy conditions. Other top scorers were seniors Dean Williamson (2nd in the shot, discus, and javelin) and James Blair (2nd in the hurdles and high jump, and 4th in the 200). In all, 21 different athletes contributed to the scoring, making it another great team performance.
Next, the Crusaders go for the triple crown at the County Group meet on 5/10-11.
