STATE CHAMPIONS! CRUSADERS OVERWHELM IRISH IN NPA FINALE

March 9 – Toms River, NJ – The Crusaders grabbed ten of the first eleven points, jumping out to a 10-1 lead and never looked back on route to a 78-61 victory in the Non-Public “A” State Championship at RWJ Banabas Health Center before 3000 spectators in Toms River.  Matt Zona took over the game, finishing with 17 points and an awesome, inside/outside game making him virtually unstoppable.  Doug Edert seemed to have no range, shooting the ball from anywhere on the court, draining threes for a game high 19 points.  Zach Freemantle drove home a couple of statement slams on his way to a double-digit scoring evening off some very unselfish play by Jason Earle and his teammates.  Congratulations, Coach Armstrong on becoming BC’s second Alumnus Coach to reach the TOC (Joe Dionisio ’77) and first to play on a TOC team at BC (1994) and lead his team to teh TOC.
