When can we begin to enroll our son in the class of 2024?

You can begin to enroll your son in the class of 2024 at 12:00 midnight on January 18, 2020. You will receive an email from TADS with instructions on completing the enrollment contract, submitting the registration fee, and enrolling in tuition-billing.

When are we notified if he received a scholarship or Financial Assistance?

You will be notified if you received an academic scholarship in your acceptance packet as well as in your emailed packet. If you received Financial Assistance, you will be notified of the specific Financial Assistance award when you sign-in to TADS following the instruction from the email you receive on Friday, January 17, 2020.

How do we submit my son’s medical records?

You can submit your son’s medical records through our online portal known as Family ID. You will also receive an email from us with directions on signing up for Family ID.

Do we need to attend Registration Day?

While Registration Day is not required, we do recommend attending. This will give you an opportunity to submit any of the forms required to be submitted in person (Transportation form, Student Success Center.) This is also a wonderful time to celebrate with other members of the class of 2024, their families, and the Bergen Catholic community. The dress code for the day is casual and is from 8 am-Noon, however, you do not need to stay for all 4 hours.

How do we know what courses my son is taking?

Based on your COOP scores, you will receive a preliminary course placement made by our Academic Department Chairs. After registration, you will receive a mathematics and world language questionnaire. This will give you the opportunity to submit the current math class you are in (i.e. Pre-algebra, Algebra, Geometry, etc.) as well as which language you would prefer to take (Latin, Mandarin, and Spanish).

If my son was not placed into honors, can he challenge that placement?

Yes, your son can challenge his placement. If he would like to challenge his placement, we will hold placement examinations on Saturday, April 4, 2020. They will be held from 9:00 am -Noon at Bergen Catholic. More information on this will be sent out following the registration deadline of February 15, 2020.

What is the Dress Code at Bergen Catholic?

The Dress Code for Underclassmen (9th-11th grade) are as follows:

  • Fall and Spring Bergen Catholic polo (white or red), dress pants or khaki pants, brown or black belt, black or brown shoes (leather Sperry’s are acceptable)
  • Winter Shirt and tie (any shirt and tie combination is acceptable). If you plan on wearing the Bergen Catholic sweater, it must be the BC pullover. You will receive this as your registration gift.

An announcement for these will be made to the students as well as communicated to parents via email.
As a senior privilege, they can wear the BC polo all year.

My son participates in a sport. Does my enrollment into the school automatically add him to the list for participation in the sport of his choice?

While you will be added to all communication from Bergen Catholic, this does not include communication from teams regarding their schedules. You will be included in any communication regarding their registration dates, however, you must register for those sports to receive any notifications about their updates.

How can my son sign up for clubs and activities at Bergen Catholic?

The activities booklet is usually sent out to all students in mid-July. They will be able to participate in an activity fair in the second week of school, which will give them an opportunity to visit with club leaders and moderators of their desired activity in order to learn more about what they do, and how to get involved.

My son is interested in Drama and Performing Arts at Bergen Catholic. How does he get involved with these programs?

Mrs. Barbara Peraino, our Department Chair for the Arts, will send out a welcome letter as well as a call to action in mid-July/early August for all students interested in the arts. If you have any questions regarding the arts, please contact Mrs. Peraino at bperaino@bergencatholic.org.
