Mr. Albert Barton came to Bergen Catholic in 1977 following his graduation from Montclair State College. Al taught history and also served as the Varsity Baseball Coach from 1981-1994 and is the winningest coach in school history with 241 victories. His team’s led a resurgence in baseball at BC as they qualified for ten state and eight county tournaments, captured six NNJIL crowns and three State Sectional Titles. The 1991 team led the state of New Jersey with twenty-eight wins and was voted “Bergen County Team of the Year”. Coach Barton was selected Bergen County Coach of the Year in 1985 and New Jersey Coach of the Year in 1991. Al has been married to Patricia for seventeen years and they have two children, Matthew and Kelsey.
