Mr. Hugh Edwin Beattie graduated from BC in 1973. Coached in soccer by his father, Hugh entered BC became a member of the soccer club. After his junior year, he urged the student government to vote funds for uniforms, and in his senior year BC fielded its first varsity soccer team. The team reached the State playoffs, and Hugh received County and State awards, a first in B.C. soccer. After playing on Fairleigh Dickinson University’s soccer team and earning a degree in English, Hugh was hired as a teacher and head soccer coach at BC Hugh has coached BC teams to league, county and State titles.
