Alvaro G. de Molina, a member of the Bergen Catholic Class of 1975, is currently a partner in VCI Partners, a venture capital firm in Charlotte, NC, which he co-founded in 2011. Previously, Al was CEO of GMAC, a position he took as the company entered into the financial crisis of 2007-2009. Before joining GMAC, Al had a long career at Bank of America before leaving in 2006. He held various positions at Bank of America including CFO, CEO of the Corporate and Investment Bank and CEO of Bank of America Securities and Corporate Treasurer. Al is a member of a number of Board of Directors, including Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and North Carolina Dance Theater. On the community level, Al is involved in a number of charitable organizations in Charlotte, committing his time and treasure. He received his MBA from Rutgers University and was inducted into its Wall of Fame. Al is committed to BC and firmly believes in its Mission Statement. To help ensure the continued success and ongoing operation of BC, Al has made and continues to make a substantial financial investment in the school on an annual basis. He has been married to his wife, Donna, for 25 years and together they are the proud parents of three children: Nicholas, Rachel and Julia.
