John DeBoyace, Class of 1994, was one of the most successful swimmers in Bergen Catholic history. Throughout his four years of swimming at BC, he helped lead the team to many county and divisional championships. John was county, state and national champion in the 100 Butterfly. John earned All-American Awards in the 50y, 100y & 200y Freestyle and the 100y Butterfly in 1992, 1993 & 1994. In 1994, John was the fastest high school 100 Butterflyer and ranked #1 in the entire country. His swimming expertise earned him an invitation to the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association’s Meet in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This annual event held at the International Swimming Hall of Fame is invitation only and only the best high school swimmers in the nation participate. John still holds records at BC and at pools throughout NJ, NY and the country in multiple events. John went on to the University of Texas, the premier college swimming program in the nation on a scholarship. In 1996, John swam in the US Olympic Trials and was a member of the Men’s Swimming National Championship Team at The University of Texas. John was also a four-year member of the BC Track and Field Team and placed 5th in the State in Pole Vault at the Meet of Champions. John currently resides in Doylestown, PA and he focuses much of his time on his 4 wonderful children, his triplets, Wyatt, Jack and Makenna and his fourth child Allison.
