Mr. John Egan is a 1965 graduate of Bergen Catholic and was a two-year starter on the BC football and basketball teams. The powerful tight end caught two TD passes as co-captain of the football team in 1964 and was rewarded for his fine play by being named First Team All-League and Honorable Mention All-County that season. On the basketball court that winter, he was a Fourth Team All-County and First Team All-League power forward during a season where he averaged 11 points-per-game for the Crusaders. A natural leader (he was elected President of his class at BC), John moved on to Boston College where he was a prominent football player for the Eagles. He won the prestigious “Thomas Scanlon Award,” which is presented annually to the Boston College athlete who demonstrates outstanding scholarship, leadership and community service. John was a 7th round draft choice of the Miami Dolphins, where he played for two years before beginning a 35-year career in the cable industry. He is no Chairman of the Evolution Broadband, LLC, a leading supplier and innovator in the cable and telecommunications industry. He and his wife, Lynn, have two children and six grandchildren.
