Mr. Francis David Faherty graduated from BC in 1963. He continued his education on an athletic scholarship to lona College. Dave returned to Bergen Catholic in 1967 as a teacher and coach where, in his fourteen years of coaching, his cross-country teams were consistently ranked among the top ten in New Jersey, earning the #1 ranking in 1970 and 1978. Selected as the Bergen County Coach of the Year four times, Dave’s cross-country teams were 76-8 and won nine county titles. An avid runner himself, he has completed over 100 marathons, and in 1982 Dave was chosen to carry the Olympic Torch en-route to the 1984 Games in Los Angeles.
