Michael Ference, Class of 1987, is a Bergen Catholic success story. Michael was a member of the first Crusader soccer team to win a County championship, a Parochial “A” North Sectional Championship and named Bergen County “Team of the Year.” As a senior, Michael captained the soccer team and was named All-State, All-County, All-League and All-Suburban. Michael was a member of the 1986 County Champion Indoor Track Team and the 1987 Parochial “A” North Sectional Championship Tennis Team. He was also a member of the first Bergen Catholic Mock Trial team to win a County Championship and reach the state finals. Michael played soccer and tennis at Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned his BS and MBA and was named an Andrew Carnegie Scholar. A three-time captain of the men’s tennis team, in 1990 he won the Presidents Athletic Conference championship in singles and doubles. A graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Michael is a founding partner and heads the litigation group for Sichenzia, Ross, Friedman, Ference LLP, a Manhattan-based securities law firm with offices in Budapest and Tel Aviv. In 2006, Michael and his father, Tom, created the Ference Family Financial Aid Fund for endowed financial aid. By continuing to fund it each year, he helps future Crusaders experience a BC education. Michael resides in Demarest with his wife, Noelle, and their three children, Colin, Casey and Nicole.
