Dr. Joseph S. Fusco was the first lay Principal in the history of Bergen Catholic, serving his position for twelve years (1994-2006). Dr. Fusco’s extraordinary career in education includes teaching and administration positions in public and alternative schools, at the high school and collegiate levels in New Jersey and New York. With a rich and impressive educational background that includes an undergraduate degree in philosophy, a Master’s in Foreign Language Education a Master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Dr. Fusco’s career embodies BC’s quest for “excellence in all things.” He lives by the saying, Doce ut dicas: Teach in order to learn. Dr. Joseph S. Fusco continues to believe strongly in the rich educational tradition of Blessed Edmund Ignatius Rice—and prays students leave BC committed to the pursuit of lifelong education and with an ardent responsibility to themselves, their community and their God.
