Mr. Edward Golden is a 1983 graduate of Bergen Catholic. In addition to being a three-year varsity basketball starter, he helped guide the Crusaders during his senior year to a perfect 18-0 league record in Bergen’s inaugural season in the NNJIL. He was named to the All-County team after his junior and senior years and was an All-State selection in 1983. In the early 1990s, Ed was one of eight players selected to The Record’s All-Decade Team for the 1980s. He continued his days on the hardwood at Fairfield University on a full athletic scholarship. As captain of the Stags, he led the school to its first two invitations to the NCAA Tournament during his junior and senior seasons. The 1986-1987 squad set a school record with 24 wins and still holds the MAAC’s best league record ever of 13 wins and only one loss. As a senior at Fairfield, he was honored by receiving the Patrick Burke Memorial Award, which is awarded to a varsity athlete who exemplifies true sportsmanship and determination. Ed earned his BS degree in Business in 1987. He is currently a Director for Deutche Bank Private Wealth Management in New York City. Ed and his wife, Suzanne, currently reside in River Edge with their two children, Brendan and Kate, and are eagerly awaiting a new addition this summer.
