Rev. Michael Halvard Hansen graduated from Bergen Catholic in 1959. Mike is the first graduate ordained to the priesthood. While at Bergen he was a staff artist for the The Herald, designing the masthead still in use, and served on the committee that designed the school crest. Mike played the French Horn in the marching and concert bands all four years at Bergen. After ordination in 1967, by Archbishop Thomas A. Boland, Mike was assigned to Sacred Heart, Bloomfield/Glen Ridge. He is currently associate Pastor at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. West Orange. In addition to being a volunteer firefighter and acting as the N.J. State Fire Chaplain, Father Mike can be seen at many Bergen Catholic school functions.
