Eric C. Lane, Esquire, is a graduate of BC’s Class of 1992 and was a key member of the 1991 North Jersey Parochial “A” State Championship football squad. During his senior campaign, Eric helped lead the team to an undefeated season and a final #11 national ranking. An outstanding running back, Eric averaged 8.8 yards-per-carry and amassed single-season school-record totals of 1,623 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns (both of which stand to this day). He earned a plethora of honors during his senior year: All-NNJIL, All-Bergen County, Associated Press and Star Ledger All-State, New York Daily News All-Suburban, New Jersey interscholastic Coaches Association North/South All-Star; Tom Lemming’s Prep Football Report All-East squad, USA Today All-American (Honorable Mention), and Downtown Athletic Club Heisman High School All-Star. Eric’s varsity career statistics rank second-best on the all-time BC list for yards-per-carry and rate fifth-best in rushing yards (2,376) and total scoring (218 points). He went on to play collegiately for the University of Tennessee Volunteers and professionally in the National Football League for the New York Giants (1997 NFC East Champions) and the Atlanta Falcons.
