Richard W. Leonard graduated from Bergen Catholic in 1963. While attending Bergen Catholic. Rick was a member of the Varsity Football Team. He also received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Association. He continued to play football while attending the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. In 1969 he married Lorraine Lansville and they had two sons, Jeffrey and Michael. In 1972 Rick started R&L Automotive Engines. He obtained his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1982 and received the Samuel J. Silberman College of Business Administration Deans Award. Rick served as President of the Bergen Catholic Alumni Association from 1986-1988, and through his efforts the Alumni Association prospered
