Mr. Charles W. Madden graduated from BC in 1964. Bill was awarded All-County Honors as a sprinter. Bill was also the State Champion in the 100-yard dash and the 220-yard run in 1963-64. Bill received a scholarship for his great track ability to the University of South Carolina, where he majored in Journalism. Bill’s major served him well. Bill was the beat writer for the Yankees and after having many award-nominated stories for The Daily News, he has been elevated to National Baseball Columnist.
