Shaun McGregor, a member of the Bergen Catholic Class of 1996, established himself as one of the most dominating Track and Field athletes in Bergen Catholic history. He received multiple first team all-county awards during both the indoor and outdoor seasons throughout his BC career. During the Indoor State Championship  his shot put throw of 60’4.25” not only secured the State Championship but was the farthest throw in BC history and the first over 60’ by a Bergen County athlete in 20 years. Bergen County has still not had a State Champion shot putter since his win in 1996. Shaun also excelled at the discus and his throw of just under 174 feet missed the farthest throw in BC history by inches. Not only because of his athletic ability but due to his nature, Shaun was awarded the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Scholar Athlete award in 1996, and received similar accolades from Bergen County. He also accumulated significant individual championships throughout his career at Bergen Catholic, and led the shot put and discus relay teams to multiple country and league championships. Shaun was later named to the Bergen Record All-Decade Track & Field team. Shaun continued his throwing career at Dartmouth College, where he added the hammer and 35 lbs. weight throws to his repertoire, and consistently earning All-Ivy and All-East titles throughout his college career. However, Shaun’s most important accomplishments to date are his two wonderful and amazing children.
