Mr. Dennis McNerney graduated from Bergen Catholic in 1984. He was a track star during his days at B.C., participating on the cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams. A lifelong resident of Bergen County, he attended the University of Delaware after his graduation from BC and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Columbia University. He was a vice president at Citicorp before entering public office. After twice being elected to the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders in 1998 and 2001, Dennis was elected County Executive in 2002 – the highest elected office in Bergen County – and is currently serving his second term in that position. Among his many accomplishments are the consolidation of Bergen County’s 9-1-1 dispatch service, the acquisition of hundreds of acres of open space throughout the County, the institution of a prescription discount card program that is available to every resident of the county, the creation of a walkway along the Hackensack River, and the construction of the Bergen County Sportsplex
