Mr. Daniel Mecca graduated from Bergen Catholic in 1960. He graduated from Fordham University in 1964 and Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law in 1967. That same year, Dan entered into active duty as a 1st Lieutenant, US Army, serving at Fort Riley, Kansas and later as port operations officer in Vietnam, while attaining the rank of Captain. He returned to the States in 1969 and began his law practice in 1970. While attending to his private law practice, Dan has also served over the years as Assistant Bergen County Counsel, Bergen County Community Development Counsel, Municipal Court Judge and later, Borough Attorney in Paramus and Prosecutor for Saddle Brook. He became Democratic Municipal Chairman of Paramus in 1986 and served as Chairman of the Democratic Party of Bergen County from 1987 to 1991. After 25 years in private practice, he became a NJ Superior Court Judge and presently is a member of the NJ Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Arbitration, as a well as the Supreme Court Committee on Complimentary Dispute Resolution. Dan has two children, Joseph ’88 and Christina, Holy Angels ’91.
