Mr. Gary Miller became involved with the BC family when his son, Bob, became a freshman in 1973. Gary’s love of sports and children made for an instant connection that endured until his untimely death at the age of 59. Gary became involved in the Fathers’ Club, and worked with coaches Karcich and Stengel (football) and Donfield (basketball) as a part-time physical education assistant and trainer. Upon his early retirement from the NYC Police Department, where he served as a patrolman in for 13 years, Gary took on full-time service as team trainer. Gary graduated from Cardinal Hayes HS in 1950, where he played football. Upon graduation, he was signed to a minor league contract with the then NY Giants. He later decided to join the Navy as a communications specialist from 1951-1955. He is survived by his loving wife, Marge, six children [Gary. Jr. (RIP), Joanne, Bob ’78, Mary, Susan and John}, six granddaughters, and one grandson, Christopher ’98. Gary’s wife continues his BC legacy by overseeing the basketball camp (kitchen and counselors) since 1993 for coaches Donfield and Dionisio.
