Mr. Hugh “Zeke’” Rodgers, a member of the Class of 1992, established himself as one of the finest all-around athletes and coaches in Bergen Catholic history. In his career, he starred in three varsity sports for the Crusaders. He was an All-County punter as well as a two-year starter at quarterback and safety for BC and was a valuable member of the nationally-ranked 1991 State Championship football team that finished with an 11-0 record. Zeke threw 10 touchdowns that season and completed 57% of his passes. During that period, he was also a two-year starter for back-to-back Bergen County Jamboree championship basketball team that was led by legendary coach Chris Donfield. The basketball Crusaders compiled a 45-13 record and reached the Parochial “A” North Section Finals twice during Zeke’s two seasons as a starter. He was a two-year starter in the outfield for Bergen’s baseball team that combined for a 50-9 record. Zeke returned to B.C. as a teacher and coach, and is currently the Director of Admissions. He has coached each of the sports that he played in at B.C. for the Crusaders in addition to lacrosse. Zeke and his wife, April, have two children.
