Mr. Dennis Rossi is a 1964 graduate of Bergen Catholic. He was a senior co-captain of a basketball team that won the Tri-County League Championship. Dennis began his basketball coaching career in 1965 and returned to BC in 1966 as a freshman coach. In 1968, he became Chris Donfield’s assistant. His JV coaching record at BC was 75-8. In 1976, Dennis took on a floundering St. Joseph Regional program and turned it around, culminating with a Jamboree title in 1980. In 1993, Dennis took over a deteriorated Bergenfield High School program. The result has been three NBIL championships, several Jamboree appearances and Group 3 Sectional championships in 1998 and 1999. He has been named Bergen County Coach of the Year in 1981, 1997, 1998, New York Daily News Coach of the Year twice, and Suburban Coach of the Year twice. Mr. Rossi has four children and is the Director of Guidance for the Old Tappan Public School District.
