Mr. James Sansevero came to Bergen Catholic in 1970 when his son James Jr. entered the school. Jimmy, a World War II Navy veteran, moved his family to Paramus from Brooklyn in 1951. The Sanseveros were among the first parishioners of Our Lady of Visitation Parish, in whose grade school Bergen Catholic was founded in 1955. For thirteen years, Jimmy was always among the members of the Father Club, and then the Alumni Fathers, who assisted the Athletic Director in supervising and ticket-taking at football and basketball games. He served every year at the Sports Banquet and at Showtime. For all of twenty-five years, he has been a “regular” at the Tuesday night Bingo which has netted over one million dollars.
