He placed in the “Top Ten” all four years at the State Championships, and won the All-Groups crown in 1996 after placing second one year earlier. Eugene won over 100 matches during his career at BC and was named “Athlete of the Week” in 1996 by The Record. He won the prestigious Luciano County Championship twice and also placed second and third during his four years at BC. Eugene moved on to Seton Hall University on a golf scholarship, where he won five tournaments, including the 2000 Big East Championship. He was named Seton Hall’s “Male Athlete of the Year” during his senior year and was also voted Freshman and Sophomore “Male Athlete of the Year.” He was inducted into the Seton Hall University Hall of Fame in 2010. In 2003, Eugene turned pro and played on the New England Pro Golf Tour for one summer. He qualified for the Canadian Professional Golf Tour the following year and has been playing in Canada for the last eight years.
