Richard Taylor, a 1970 graduate of Bergen Catholic, is most noted for his generous support of a variety of programs and charities that help the poor or promote the Catholic faith. A high-successful businessman, he founded Machinery Services Corp. in Paterson and later purchased Rapid Pump & Meter Service Co. The companies have grown to become leaders in service and quality in the industries they serve. Service has always been important to the Taylor family. Rich and his wife, Aleta, have helped a variety of worthy causes, including BC, Oasis (a program in Paterson that assists women and children in need), The Path to Peace Foundation at the United Nations, Eva’s Village in Paterson; Immaculate Conception HS, Mary Help of Christians Seminary at Seton Hall University. They have served on the Boards as active members for many of these groups in 2005, they were elevated to the Papal Order of St. Gregory the Great by His Holiness, Pope John II. A longtime benefactor to BC, Rich also served as Chairman of The Campaign for the 2nd Half-Century. He and Aleta are the proud parents of four children, including one BC alumnus (Brian ’93).
