Entrepreneurship Competition Held at Watros Business Center

ORADELL, NJ, February 15, 2024– Bergen Catholic hosted the finals of their Entrepreneurship Competition at the Watros Business Center on Thursday evening. The competition was open to all 65 Bergen Catholic seniors enrolled in Entrepreneur classes. Those students formed 17 teams that competed against one another for a spot in the finals. The final 7 teams pitched their ideas to an audience of judges and guests, and two teams were selected as winners in the Business Venture & Social Venture categories.

Proud BC alums Paul Doherty ’86, Joseph Davi ’88 and AJ Condemi ’21 served as the judges for the finals, and each team had 5 minutes to make their presentations, and then answered questions from the judges for 3 minutes. Seniors Marc Blair and Jake Taromina won the Business Venture competition for their pitch of “Bergen Capital”, while Archie Idea, Brendan O’Rourke, and William Micholas won first prize in the Social Venture category for their idea of “Tutor2Go”.

The winners each received cash prizes and will next represent Bergen Catholic at a competition later this year at Rutgers University.
