US History II Honors Students Participate in “New Deal Diner”

ORADELL, NJ, April 18, 2024– Bergen Catholic students in Mr. Giarrusso’s U.S. History II Honors classes participated in the “New Deal Diner”, a fictional meeting of the minds in 1938 involving notable historical figures in American history of that age.

In this classroom exercise, the BC students assumed the roles of 23 culturally significant Americans of the 1930s and each attended the “New Deal Diner” where they would have to decide which parts of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal their historical figure would advocate, and for some, which parts they would oppose based on their historical figure’s background.

We have wonderfully creative faculty at Bergen Catholic, who challenge our students academically, while also making it a fun and unique learning experience.
