SIX SCORE FOR #6-RANKED BC

DECEMBER 19 – HACKENSACK, NJ – Max Wright opened the scoring for the Crusaders as BC jumped all over the Marauders 3-0 in the first period.  It was just a start as Bergen earned its first shutout of the season, defeating St. Peter’s Prep 6-0.

Colin Higgins recorded his first-career goal to make the score 2-0.  Sophomore Will Schletwegg scored with 3:09 remaining I the period, as he was left unguarded behind the goal aand turned theo corrner to his left side.

Offenses were sluggish to start the second period and a number of opportunities escaped both teams until Matt Maglio weaved through three defenders from the left wing, to find himself open in front of the goal to dunk it, giving BC a 4-0 lead with 5:39 remaining in the stanza.

The Crusaders took a delay of game penalty to start third period and then killed off a 5v3 shorthanded situation.  Harrison Udis scored to start BC’s offense in the third period and freshman, Braydon Kane scored his first-career goal with just under 30 seconds remaining to lift BC to a 6-0 victory.

Allessandro Capano was perfect between the pipes, earning the team’s first shutout victory of the season for Bergen.

State Rankings:  The Crusaders moved up two spots in the state poll to #6 in NJ.
